Scott Gomez RUMEUR
Voici la rumeur:
http://www.toxicways.com/2011/06/27/scott-gomez-traded/
With 72 hours remaning before July 1, the Montreal Canadiens are following the footsteps of the Philadelphia Flyers as they reshape their roster. According to various sources, Scott gomez has been traded to the New York Islanders in return for the rights of forwards Zenon Konopka and Joshua Bailey. Earlier, the Canadiens elected not to qualify Benoit Pouliot, Tom Pyatt, and Alexandre Picard.
Exactly two years ago, the New York Rangers traded Scott Gomez, Tom Pyatt and Mike Busto to the Montreal Canadiens for Christopher Higgins, Ryan McDonagh, Doug Janik and Pavel Valentenko. The acquisition of Scott Gomez was instrumental in signing other free agents such as Michael Cammalleri , and Brian Gionta. While Gomez has helped the Montreal Canadiens off the ice, the same can’t be said on the ice. Gomez has failed to live upto expectations, as in 158 games in two seasons, he has only registered 97 pts (19 Goals, 78 Assists).
I strongly believe this trade helps both parties involved. For starters, it gives the New York Islanders a veteran presence at the center ice position. More importantly, Gomez is no stranger in the state of New York, having played for the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers. On the other hand, the Montreal Canadiens get a fiesty third line checking center in Zenon Konopka who is not afraid to stand up for his teammates, and is excellent on faceoffs.
The trade should be officially announced very shortly.
UPDATE**
Many of you are wondering why the trade has not been announced. The reason is that the New York Islanders are one of the three teams Scott Gomez can veto. However, Garth Snow and assistant coach Doug Weight are making a valiant effort to convince him in joining the new look New York Islanders.

Re: Scott Gomez RUMEUR
